PRIVATE ADHD Assessments for adults In Leicester, Derby, Nottingham & sheffield

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that can continue into adulthood, often affecting attention, organisation, emotional regulation and impulse control. Many adults seek an assessment after recognising long-standing difficulties that impact work, relationships or daily life.

An adult ADHD assessment can provide clarity, understanding and practical recommendations to help make sense of these experiences.

I provide private ADHD assessments and diagnostic services for adults in Leicester, Derby, Nottingham & Sheffield.

A comprehensive ADHD assessment considers developmental history, current presentation and wider context, helping to clarify needs and guide appropriate support in both personal and professional settings.

If you are also exploring social communication differences, you can read more about private adult autism assessments here.

Initial 20-Minute Phone Consultation

I offer an initial 20 minute phone consultation to talk through the difficulties you are experiencing. From this, I will determine whether a full adult ADHD assessment would be suitable, or whether a different kind of psychological assessment or service may be more appropriate.

If you are seeking a private adult ADHD assessment in Leicester, Derby or Nottingham, please get in touch to arrange a phone consultation.

What happens in a private adult ADHD assessment?

If you would like a more detailed explanation of the process, including what to expect before, during and after the appointment, you can read my guide on what happens during an adult ADHD assessment.

My approach to offering a private adult ADHD assessment follows the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines for assessing and diagnosing ADHD in adults.

Phone consultation

A 20 minute phone consultation to gather information about the difficulties you are experiencing. This helps determine whether a full ADHD assessment would be most helpful.

ADHD screening tools

To gather further information, I will email ADHD screening questionnaires. These, alongside the phone consultation, help determine whether you are likely to be experiencing signs and symptoms consistent with ADHD.

In-person ADULT ADHD assessment

I will conduct a full ADHD assessment at my office. The assessment typically lasts around 2.5 hours and involves:

  • Gathering information about early development
  • Reviewing medical and mental health history
  • Completion of the DIVA-5 assessment, a recommended gold standard ADHD diagnostic tool

Written Diagnostic Report

I will write up the assessment in a report, which will then be emailed to you in a password protected format. The password will be shared upon receipt of final payment for the assessment. You can expect to receive the report within 4 weeks from the assessment date.

Optional Feedback Consultation

There is the option of discussing the report and recommendations in a 50 minute feedback consultation.

MEDICATION

If you wish to explore medication treatment for ADHD, I can provide details of a Psychiatrist who is able to assess and prescribe ADHD medication.
